Are there cons with the Bahamas? Are there hidden charges? How much does the rent cost? It's safe?

In the previous episodes we have seen how the Bahamas are convenient from a fiscal point of view, today let's focus more on the negative aspects.

First, if you are used to eating imported products, expect to pay high prices in the Bahamas, as there are very high import duties, even higher than 30% in some cases.

By eating local products you will spend much less.

From a security point of view, the Bahamas is a relatively safe place, and the only noteworthy crimes are confined to certain areas, especially parts of Nassau (the capital of the Bahamas), and are often related to the sale of drugs.

Rents in the Bahamas are certainly not cheap, although it must be said that in many cases the apartments are of an astounding quality, especially in terms of sight and amenities.

For example, luxury homes with 3 or more bedrooms, in prestigious areas of Nassau, can cost as much as 5,000 dollars a month, but we are talking about properties with ocean views and private pools.

Around 3,000 or 4,000 dollars a month you can rent a two-bedroom apartment in the so-called Venice of the Bahamas, which is a complex consisting of over 300 houses built around picturesque canals, homes that have major amenities, such as tennis courts, swimming pools, gyms, and 24 hour surveillance services.

In the vicinity of Paradise Island you can be able to find two-bedroom apartments, with shared pools and gardens and easy access to the beaches, for 2,500 a month.

For 3,500 a month, you can manage to rent a two-bedroom oceanfront penthouse near Cable Beach, complete with a large balcony overlooking the sea, with a shared gym and pool.

There are also cheaper properties for just under 1,000 dollars a month.

For example, in areas like Freeport on Grand Bahama.

In the next episode we will see one of the most important topics, concerning the holding of money in banking institutions in the Bahamas, and what has been happening to many account holders in recent years.
