The Bahamas are a fantastic place for expats. Green, beautiful, laid-back and with some of the best weather in the world, there’s a reason why people from all over the world – including Canada, Europe, South America and Asia – have flocked to this small archipelago to start a new life. The cost of living is average and it offers great value. In addition, living here is also more affordable than other tax havens. Housing costs are average; electricity is reasonable; and food is reasonably priced. It makes sense to live in the Bahamas if you’re interested in starting a new chapter of your life. Agriculture accounts for approximately 10% of gross domestic product (GDP) and 25% of exports—but only 5% of the population lives in rural areas (compared with 30% in many other countries). The agricultural sector is dominated by cattle breeding (accounting for 75% of all cattle) followed by fishing (24%) and tourism (6%). There are numerous golf courses as well as a growing number of marinas throughout the archipelago.

The islands are very diverse in terms of climate and geography. The climate ranges from subtropical to tropical with a year-round average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). The country also experiences four seasons, with the driest season being winter. There are two main seasons, the dry season and hurricane season, which is when the islands are at their most beautiful. If you’re interested in starting a new chapter of your life, then the Bahamas is an excellent choice. With its reasonable cost of living compared to other tax havens, perfect weather and awesome beaches, it’s easy to see why so many people want to move here. However, if you’re one of those dreamers hoping to find your own tropical paradise with no passport required, then you might be disappointed as many foreigners have trouble getting a work visa. With that said, there are still plenty of opportunities for expats in the Bahamas so don’t let this minor roadblock discourage you from moving here. The Bahamas also has a number of services that make everyday life easier for expats. The best places to live in the Bahamas are on the east coast. The south coast is also a popular choice, with its beaches and proximity to Nassau. If you have your own transport, you can choose from any of the southern islands or any of the towns in the north or central regions – or even go for a beach paradise on one of them.

Top attractions in the Bahamas

One of the top attractions in the Bahamas is the coral reefs that line its coastlines. The surrounding waters have an abundance of fish and at least a dozen unique species can be found in the surrounding waters. In addition, there's plenty to do around on land including diving, snorkeling, hiking and more. The country's most popular tourist attraction is Cable Beach, located in Grand Bahama Island and it's not hard to see why. With a gorgeous white sandy beach and beautiful turquoise blue water, it's got everything you could possibly want in a tropical getaway – minus the crowds! Another top attraction is Nassau. This capital city has been going through some major changes recently as they are currently undergoing a large-scale reconstruction project to improve upon their already great tourism offerings. There are plenty of historical sites to visit and you'll find luxury hotels throughout which makes for an expensive yet intriguing destination for tourists. A third popular attraction is Freeport - known as the "Pearl of The Bahamas". It's just one hour away from Nassau by boat so it offers a different perspective on Bahamian culture than what can be found in Nassau itself. You'll find plenty of shopping opportunities here as well as great activities like deep sea fishing. Healthcare in the Bahamas

The Bahamas is famous for its healthcare. The country has an excellent public health system, with a strong emphasis on primary care and high quality services. The government is also committed to healthcare reform, which includes reducing the number of trips to the U.S., increasing affordable housing options, introducing free pre-natal care and extending paid maternity leave to 12 weeks. Everyone living in the Bahamas has access to good healthcare, but there are some exceptions. For example, residents do not have access to Medicaid or Medicare benefits from the U.S., so they must pay for their own health insurance out-of-pocket if they need it. In addition, there are some lines of medical insurance that aren’t available in the Bahamas.

Leisure activities in the Bahamas

The Bahamas have a vast range of leisure activities to offer. There are some great restaurants and bars that offer the best in cuisine and cocktails, including Red Pepper Club in San Juan or Castaways Bar & Grill in Nassau. There are a wide variety of activities to choose from, such as fishing, diving, other water sports, golfing and more. In fact, the country has been voted as one of the top ten Caribbean destinations for beach holidays. Additionally, there's always something going on at hotels, resorts and spas across the archipelago. Which nationalities live in the Bahamas?

The Bahamas is increasingly popular for expats from Canada and Europe. It has a growing population of retirees and those who have chosen to relocate here in search of a better quality of life. The United States is also a popular destination or source of visitors, especially among younger people. Expats consider the Bahamas as an affordable option when they seek a good quality of life. According to the some census, the percentage of Bahamians who identify themselves as white (the vast majority) is 69% while that for Afro-Bahamians is 39%. Eight percent are mixed race and 4% are Amerindian. This makes up around 63% of the population, but this does not include Bahamian citizens living abroad.

Tourism in the Bahamas

The Bahamas is a popular destination for tourists from around the world. The country offers a wide variety of things to do, including delicious food and drinks, amazing beaches, beautiful sunsets and great sightseeing. In addition to being an enjoyable place to visit, you can also spend some time volunteering in the Bahamas. There are many different organizations that provide volunteer opportunities across the archipelago including international and domestic NGOs. You’ll find that they need volunteers as many people rely on them to help with environmental cleanup, animal care and education programs. If you want to get involved with animal care or education programs then you’re in luck because there are plenty of opportunities to do so. Some of the best organizations include Concern Worldwide – Bahamas Wildlife Sanctuary Project and Humane Society International – Bahamas Branch (HSI-Bahamas).
